Thank you for your reply! I am not sure if you win., should I have previously taken out some type of legal status that will cover me to be able to sue. Does it require a specific time frame? I have not taken out any city, state or federal.
I am an nyc teacher fired for religious exemption for not taking Covid vaccine. I have not been in any lawsuit. It shouldn’t matter, if I’m a teacher. I was still a public employee. I tried to get in on your class action teachers.
There are already 5 or 6 lawsuits Sujata has representing teachers and educators. If any of those cases are ultimate successful, they should benefits you as well in time. However this new case is a *new*strategy* that does not involve teachers or educators. Lawsuits revolve around legal strategy
Does it matter if I didn’t take some legal notice to sue in the courts and the time frame for me to do that has expired? Should these cases be successful, then I will benefit from it anyway?
If you were a NYC teacher who was denied religious exemption and not part of previous lawsuits. Gibson’s office says it not for teachers, only for municipal workers. What was the results of the class action of the lawsuit of teachers who were denied religious exemption, that signed up for that class action lawsuit?
The two cases I am in were designed as "Impact Litigation." That means you take a small group, get a victory for them, and then that victory impacts all future ligitation.
Both lawsuits were seeking class action status. Both were denied multiple times in ways that I believe were illegal - but the courts have a lot of discretion.
Ultimately, if we have a win, I am convinced it will set a precedent that many others will be able to reference to their favor.
...but we need a win first (although there is the smell of multiple wins in the air nowadays...)
I don't know the specific lawsuit you are speaking of - who did you "sign up" with?
As far as the lawsuits I am involved in there are two - KANE v DE BLASIO (federal) and DiCAPUA V CITY OF NY (state) - Both are going through the appeal process right now and we don't have an update.
We WILL have an announcement regarding the KANE case coming soon
What were the results of that class action lawsuits? The class action lawsuit now is only for municipal workers. When I called Gibson’s law firm I was told that and they said, they would send me an email. I’m still waiting.
I am and was not part of the last Gibson class action lawsuit after you won your case by Judge Porzio, in Staten Island. Gibson started a class action for teachers based on denial religious exemption.
Please follow up with then via email. They are getting hundreds of emails so please be patient. I don't want to make any incorrect statements here in these comments
Only NYC? Not NY state?
Yes NYC only
What NY job denied you a religious exemption?
NYCDOE teacher
And can’t be part of a previous lawsuit.

I don't know for sure - you need to ask an attorney that. You should reach out to Sujata Gibson imo
Are all lawsuits for healthcare workers non-NYC employees all dead in the water?.
Dear Sujata Gibson,
I am an nyc teacher fired for religious exemption for not taking Covid vaccine. I have not been in any lawsuit. It shouldn’t matter, if I’m a teacher. I was still a public employee. I tried to get in on your class action teachers.
Sincerely,
Anna Marie Restaino

If successful, in time, you may benefit from them. You would need a consultation with an attorney to determine what your situation is and would be
:( was a doe teacher and a part of a previous lawsuit

On your two ongoing lawsuits, if they turn to your favor, does it have an effect on other teachers who were fired
